It’s because up and comers that end up getting popular will inevitably have better prospects elsewhere, while also demanding more money. This is compounded when they’re young and attractive.
An older actress might have a higher initial fee, but they’re less likely to be courting dozens of offers, and they probably won’t hike up their salary by 500% if their star starts rising.

One of the things that fucked capeshit was that all the actors people actually liked were siphoning off half the budget, and they’re desperate to avoid this happening again.
It’s funny that they think they’re going to last long enough for this to be a concern.

The MCU, and Marvel in general, are dead as fuck but the Fantastic Four are always destined to bomb because they aren't cool or interesting characters at all. Even if this had come out at the height of the MCU's popularity I honestly think it wouldn't succeed. People just don't like these characters, they fundamentally lack appeal and feel more dated than many other superheroes.
