Just realized the appeal of Craig Bond and why it worked so well on millenials, including myself. They literally made him look and act like the Terminator think about it.

We have to be honest with ourselves, the old Bond archetype would sell zero tickets, the original target audience is gone. Craig worked because he's the basic Jason Bourne action hero with a coat of paint.

Cannot agree more. Cannot stand faggots here who think we should go back to Connery or Moore, it was gay as fuck. I want more of the Craig terminator shit, but maybe even darker and more realistic. Don't care about gadgets unless they're very basic mechanical ones. Don't care about him fucking women. It's better if he's more of a gentlemen and a tragic hero.

that's odd. i'm a millenial and no one can be bond but Brosnan in my mind. i think OPs timelines are mixed up and we shouldn't trust nor value his opinion

Brosnan is the best Bond. Every one of his films is raw kino and 2nd place isn't close. Dalton would've been close but his films were shit.

I mean Brosnan was good, but I warmed up to Craig and Dalton a lot more over time. I still enjoy the first two Brosnan films, but yeah, Craig perfected Bond, in my opinion.

I'll give you that: Dalton movies were shit. But he's a very good Bond. Brosnan only had 2 good ones.

There's a reason pre-Craig Bond movies only appealed to boomers, and it's because they were impossible boomer power fantasies.

Boomers have had reality warp around them their entire lives for a litany of sociological reasons that I won't get into here. Interestingly, this is reflected in how pre-Craig Bonds go through their movies.

Contrast this to Craig's Bond and millennials and younger gen-Xers. You have to work wholly against the world to even scrape by. And so you have Craig's Bond who, while of extraordinary skills, is still real enough to be relatable to people who aren't used to everything falling in their laps with zero effort.

The generational preference for pre-Craig and post-Craig Bond films isn't coincidental.

>They literally made him look and act like the Terminator think about it.
They made him almost die after being poisoned and had a WOMAN come and save him. Then the villain tortured him by swinging some contraption into his scrotum. That's not very terminatoresque, anon. Just say he's more "realistic" and rugged James Bond like what people said even back when Casino Royale came out and be done with it, you mongoloid faggot.

The real issue is with portraying a traditional, masculine archetype and how that probably won't fly in the current year. Look at all the capeshit and John Wick and what the expectation is.

He's both more relatable and terminator-like. Even le chiffre tortures him, he's like "I have an itch". That's why he's so cool: because he's both.

Nigger Craig in Casino Royale and Quantum acted just like in the novels, an angry, unfeeling psychopath who doesn't care about leaving a trail of bodies behind.
Too bad they ruined him with Skyfall.

old bonds were just flat characters
craig bond was planned to subvert expectations from hardcore fans and average audience. it worked with casino royale but the next movies were brosnan tier of bad/flat

Casino Royale worked so well largely because of Eva Green. She was the only Bond girl Craig had chemistry with in his run and that was baked into the story.
At face value, Le Chiffre is a boring as fuck villain - he's literally just an accountant who bankrolled warlords in the third world while defrauding them and was quite good at Poker.
But he's remembered as a great villain mainly because he's the only one who hits Bond right in the feels and effectively breaks him.
There's no emotional resonance with any of the villains that follows - they tried it with Bardem but it didn't really work because Craig had no established relationship with Dench, it only kinda works because the viewer does.

Yes, what I'm saying that he kind of manly womanizer he's portrayed in Casino Royale is probably not something that will happen. See later Craig Bonds if you need examples. And Tom Holland wouldn't even be able to pull that shit off.

He simply looks like he would be able to do what's portrayed.
Typical pretty boy would be out of breath after running 50 meters and fold after first punch to his face.
