I don't get the hate. It was a great movie. The Godzilla scenes were few but they hit REAL hard.

They advertised Bryan Cranston in all the promotional material fresh off of Breaking Bad and hyped it up like it was going to be "Heisenberg vs Godzilla," only to kill him off in the first 20 minutes of the movie, replace him with his boring ass son and then have Godzilla barely show up the rest of the movie until the last 10 minutes. Which admittedly do have cool scenes but they are absolutely not worth the 2 hour slog to get to, just watch them on youtube.

The marketing focused on Bryan Cranston at the peak of Breaking Bad'd popularity, and then the movie came out and he's barely in it while bland ass ATJ is the protagonist. If Cranston was the focus of the story I don't think audiences would mind waiting to see Godzilla blowing things up.
