I used to live overseas as a student, and there were all kinds of jobs you could get paid cash under the table for. One thing I did was transcribe english language programming, and then they would hand my transcription to someone who would translate those into subtitles for the show.
This was a christian tv station, and mostly I just did music videos (because I knew I could just google 99% of the lyrics and copypaste into the word document).
One of the programs I got handed was a preacher from Singapore who spoke really thick accented english. And about half way through the program he just starts freaking out and screaming gibberish and having a fucking fit on stage before going right back to his train of thought, and I have no idea what the fuck is going on, or how to transcribe that.
When I had to turn in the tapes I grabbed the lady and demanded to know what the actual fuck that was, and she explained it was a pentacostal preacher, and that was speaking in tongues. Which I knew was a thing, but had never seen, and having seen it, makes me wish I hadn't.
