What I haven't seen anyone talking about, which I found really interesting, is how little focus is given to him during the games in s3. He's almost a background character. But it doesn't feel like he's unimportant. It feels more like One Punch Man. We know he's going to win the games so there's no tension and they focus on the other characters. But also, he knows he's going to win. There's no fear or insecurity in him. Even in the last game, where he's outnumbered and pushed to the edge. He doesn't back down or beg for help. He stands his ground and makes a plan because he knows he's not losing.

One could make the argument that he couldn't deal with the contradiction. He was addicted to winning the games as much as he wanted to stop them. Maybe in his head, the real game was against the frontman. But he still held onto the false belief that he was better than the other competitors because he didn't mercilessly kill people (he killed one savagely afterall). He was better than the others. But not because he was morally above the games, just because he didn't let the games affect the way he treated others. And because he kept winning.
It's a shame. The writers gave him way too many copouts to avoid pushing him to doing necessary evil. It would've been far more interesting to see him win these impossible odds stacked against him through genuine cunning.

Jump rope would have been better if there were some twists to it. One More Game should have been target #1 for the X's. The problem is in the squid game variant it was only 16 participants for 18 panels, and obviously not everyone is perfectly rational.

The solution is taking turns? That assumes anyone else will even agree to that. Sure, they may die from inaction, but you surviving to the end also becomes astronomically more unlikely. Maybe it's easy to get people to agree to that in a game show with no stakes, but the people on the show aren't the type of people in the type of situation to risk their lives even once for "the greater good".

it happened, one gentlenigress just stood on her panel (the previous leader died, so she had the panel to herself) and refused to go on. they just kept going after a while, since persuading her was useless (she was in ah hell naw mode super uppity and demading reparations from slavery)
