The tone of the episode is just bad. It's all about the family maliciously trying to commit fraud and it doesn't find a balance between the seriousness of the situation and the humor. Ending on forced drama doesn't do it any favors either.

Nah, once any core voice actor goes, there's no way any of the rest of the voice cast is staying on.
And, firstly, there is almost certainly a clause in the VA's contracts which prohibits the usage of AI imitation. And secondly the backlash that such a move would get would stop Disney from renewing the show.

I mean The Simpsons was already nearly cancelled a few years back. The VAs had to take a big pay cut to keep the show going, since it's not very popular and not extremely profitable.

They really blew it not simply ending it at 30 seasons. By choosing to continue, they doomed the show to the slow death we see today. There are numerous and continually stacking reasons to end the show and no good reasons to keep going. 30 seasons and a movie is a fantastic run, Simpsons ad nauseum risks undermining the whole series.
For decades, people wrote off anything past season 9 anyways. And the movie sucked.
