>Hi, I'm Larry David writer, and creator of Seinfeld. I'm worth 400 million dollars. Watch this show where I'm bullied by my peers endlessly.

His peers all have overall more successful careers than him. He wrote 7 seasons of a popular TV show, a finale that sucked, and a comedy movie that barely paid for itself. NOWADAYS of course he wrote 2 successful TV shows, but before he started this one he was just "the Seinfeld guy that's not Seinfeld"

Compare him to Ted Danson who was the lead star in Cheers and gets major roles to this day.

>Hi, I'm Larry David, I routinely villainize white people and say they should pay reparations to black people
>We did a DNA and ancestry on me, and found out my great great grandfather not only fought for the Rebels, he owned slaves
>when we tracked down the ancestors of the slaves he owned, I declined to give them any money at all despite being a billionaire because "I didn't have anything to do with it, and how would it help them?"
>I continue to push for reparations.

>Even more shocking was the fact that Henrietta's father, David's great-great-grandfather, Henry Bernstein, was one of only about 3,000 Jewish men to fight on the side of the Confederacy.

Something really fucking funny about that. Larry is part of an elite group.

This. The comedian to television show/film to millionaire pipeline is almost impossible and mentally taxing from start to finish. You can be an extraordinary comedian and never make it anywhere beyond just living on the road and doing clubs for the rest of your life. There are a lot of occupations like that of course, but comedy is brutal. You have to have some problems in general to be funny and while you are working as a comedian you're not solving your problems and in fact you're probably feeding them and picking up new ones. So if you are a guy like Larry David who makes it through the clubs, gets the TV show, and even then becomes a millionaire, you are rich and that's great, but you're also likely to be a special sort of fucked up individual still compared to an actor or CEO or any of the other people you might find around you.

I saw a youtube video titled "How Curb Succeeded Where Seinfeld Failed"
I didn't watch it, why would I? But it did get me thinking that there is no way I consider CYE more successful than Seinfeld. Whether you like the last two seasons of Seinfeld or not, as a whole the show is much more funny than CYE, which falls apart when the Blacks show up and then completely shits the bed and becomes unwatchable trash when Larry and Cheryl separate. The "Bachelor Larry" arc at the end is fucking terrible.
