It makes no sense that she didn't just rob him blind and take off the minute he passed out the first time.

The whole movie is retarded. Alcohol takes incredibly long to kill you, even if you're trying to kill yourself with it. Its death by attrition over multiple years unless you crash your car or asphyxiate in your sleep, which if you're a hardcore alcoholic you will not do.

Did you miss the part where he had been drinking for untold amount of years before losing his job and before the movie starts?

You can't resolve to die from alcohol and pull it off within a short timeframe like that. And certainly not with a poignant lying on the hospital bed scenario. If you could manage it it'd be by a stroke or heart attack.

I entered into the sex work industry because of Elisabeth Shue's unforgettable performance in this film. And no, I don't "rob" clients. There are many more of us out there. We are the majority. I was also inspired by Pretty Woman, starring the amazing Julia Roberts.

You cannot die the way he does in the movie in the timeframe and manner he accomplishes it in through alcohol abuse.

Leaving las vegas is not a movie that's supposed to make sense. It's like a fairy tale. just a very black pilled one.

I watched this film a couple years ago and there's an aspect of it that I'm curious about that you may be able to shed some light on. I read that Cage drank a whole bunch for a couple of weeks so he could get into the mind of an alcoholic, do you happen to know if Elisabeth Shue took one up the pooper to prepare for her role?
