A man’s 50s is potentially the second coolest period of time in a man’s life, but only if they play their cards right. Last chance to really be a hero or fade into obscurity. See also: Odysseus, Dale Cooper, several Batman comics I don’t know the name of, several more, kino trope but not really that common.

They don't. It just doesn't happen. It's all fiction.

When have you ever heard anything like it happening? People are born into it.

Part of the appeal is the idea of middle aged men being able to become someone else entirely. To go on an extraordinary journey. But it's not true.

Seems the class is having trouble separating /tv/ from real life again.

It's over when you die and not a moment before. I understand that it gives you comfort to think that you've passed the point where you could change your life because it allows you to justify your continued lack of effort but you can turn things around no matter how old you are.

You want to believe that there's some arbitrary cutoff so you don't have to feel guilty about not trying. That's gay as fuck, you little faggot.

you're delusional. Do you think the random person on the street thinks an elderly professor and Nobel laureate is cooler than someone their own age who is doing well for themselves? at a certain point there is absolutely a hard wall
