It isn't at all, although I do think that was somewhere in the plans at some point. It would actually be a much better movie if it was, I think Flik was originally intended to be a fire ant? Or maybe that was just another character that was a part of the "samurai" crew. Either way, this movie is honestly not great plot-wise. It's not an unwatchable movie but compared to Toy Story and what Pixar did in the years afterwards it's rightfully forgotten imo.

Toy Story is still the best Pixar movie because it doesn't make manchildren of both the onions and chud variety pretend they're watching something deep.

Then I realized they're the working class while the grasshoppers are the elites, so the movies message does hold some truth. If us comon folk joined forces we COULD take them down. But the elites have the way of life so comfortable and made everyone so complacent that it will probably never happen
