I have always wondered about something: The Thing creates a perfect copy of its host or whatever you want to call it, including memories. Now, does the Thing itself know it's the Thing once it has taken over someone? Considering it's a perfect copy, it shouldn't have any memories of being the Thing.
Now if you take this train of thought further, what if the Thing jas already taken over humanity but it just can't remember?

Yep, Palmer-Thing and Norris-Thing both go around the camp sabotaging things, trying to stir chaos and implicate others like Macready.
