B8 thread but the movie has him badly fuck up his first time behind an F1 wheel in 30 years and only get his lap time close to Pearce's by a coincidence
The entire first half of the movie is about him strategically using his lack of driving skills to fuck up the other racers while Pearce gained positions for the team
Just shut up it was a good fun movie, like you say when we're angry about fags and trannies in movies "let people enjoy things"

He got sued by Jolie for supposedly choking one of their kids, hitting another and violently shaking Jolie herself on a plane. His kids apparently don't talk to him at all anymore. Now this obviously could not be true, the kids could have been poisoned by their mother, he could just have been a piece of shit while an alcoholic but not have been violent etc. I just find it interesting that literally nobody cared, nobody brings it up, it didn't touch him at all. Guess he's just in that echelon above being cancellable.

From an F1 autist perspective, I see it. Modern F1 drivers are practically raised in a vat: Max Verstappen was racing karts when he was FOUR; these guys have no childhood, education, or social life growing up, all they know is racing. They would have spent that time Sonny was out of F1 working their asses off to make it that far, and then he stumbles out of his van and gets a seat? I would be insulted.
It's combined with the tech director woman, but the fact that the two of them are like "let's just fix the dirty air problem" and then immediately do, while presumably the other 10 teams are pic related

Honestly it's worth catching in a theater if you can. I know that sounds like a shill post but I saw it this past weekend and it's one of those movies that gives you a "hell yeah movie theaters are awesome" feeling like Dune or Top Gun. I went in blind and was not surprised to find out later it's the same director as Top Gun Maverick. The sound design is particularly great and the racing scenes are really well done.
