Fire is light substance, same as "electricity" and most of modern science cannot define light substance. Some call it plasma or something, we used to be able to define it better but now we call that practice alchemy not science. The only difference between alchemy and science is the recognition that souls exist, all of modern science is built on individualizing groups of thought into separate paradigms so you cant form any holistic theories that connect things. People who try to connect things in unifying theories are always scatterbrained because they feel the need to start from scratch every time under the assumption that people of antiquity were just retarded and we're only now figuring out how things work like a linear tech tree of science from 4x video games, and reality doesnt work like that.
