In my opinion it was 2012. That was a major vibe shift. Ridley and Nolan shat out Prometheus and TDKR, Skyfall made the Bond series gay, Tand he Avengers was the biggest thing in theaters.

Unironically, Avatar was the beginning of slop takeover whether you like it or not.
