I’m pissed off how much I didn’t like this movie because I wanted to love it. I wanted to love it and say it’s a family movie you can take your small children too that they can awe and wonder at, because that’s what I wanted to do, but after seeing it I will not be taking my small children. It’s vulgar, there’s sexual jokes— a running gag implying Superman has a small alien penis, I don’t know if kids will get it, but it’s obvious what the implications are. Women fawn over Jimmy Olsen and grope him and maybe implied sex? There are many boring scenes, particularly a roughly 10 minute long scene where Lois interviews Clark and it’s boring and uninteresting. And Davids performance is really meh, and I’m disappointed saying that because he seems like a really likeable guy. He is very emotional and raises his voice lots. Maybe overacts a little? Maybe it was the pressure from James Gunn to make Superman “relatable” after Henry Cavils did of a performance. Idk why, but it’s very underwhelming portrayal that didn’t stand out. On top of that the special effects are just as bad as they are in the trailer.
