Honest to god one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. The racing was very good but it's like the dialogue scenes were written by an 8th grader and edited by a marketing firm.
Brad Pitt is just a fucking asshole the entire time, and does not develop as a racer or a character at all. In fact, he was the closest thing the movie had to an antagonist. I really could not stand how he fucked with the races to such an extent to bring out hazard flags constantly, it felt like he was basically cheating.
Also where's the rival team racer(s)? All they do is splooge each other with champagne. They were pimping out that they had real life F1 racers in the marketing but it's all fluff.

Yeah he's Brad Pitt's teammate. He was ok I guess, it's hard to gauge his performance because the material he was given was such absolute tripe. Basically him and Brad Pitt are egotistical assholes to each other for the entire movie, but then towards the end Brad Pitt tells him he is good at racing and then boom he's winning now.

Produced by Hamilton and is closely watched by FOM. Its as corporate as corporate can get.

I definitely saw Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at the very least. It was kind of silly that Hamilton was the final boss considering Verstappen has been the Michael Jordan of F1 for the last few years, but I know Hamilton was a producer on the movie so that'd probably be why

none of the F1 racers had any spoken lines and only exist so fan faggots can basedface at them. The incredible irony is that they explicitly call out Drive to Survive in the movie, but then that's exactly what the fucking movie is in the end.

I actually didn't have a counter, and I went into this movie pretty blind other than having watched F1 the last few years and I like Brad Pitt. I don't know if it was hyped that F1 racers would have actual speaking roles or what the story is there, but I imagine that would have made the movie suck because they wouldn't be good actors. For what it was I thought it was a solid 7 or 8/10. Very basic by the numbers story but the direction of the racing scenes were fun and the sound design was awesome. The story is extremely basic but it exceeded on all the technical aspects imo, I had a fun time in the theater.

>Brad Pitt is just a fucking asshole the entire time, and does not develop as a racer or a character at all.

This was what kind of confused me because at first he's a selfish asshole about the race and you figure that's going to be his arc and then at like the 20 minute mark the love interest Scottish lady is like "be a team player" and then for the rest of the movie he's just a perfect team captain with no further development. Him sacrificing himself to let the black dude take the lead feels like it should be some pivotal payoff moment but instead it's more or less what he was doing for most of the movie when he was being a track terrorist.

So you’d rather it just bet the cliche route where he was a Gary Stu and is immediately good after not doing F1 for 30 years and is too old for the sport? He’s doing what all old vets do. Veterans boxers do that shit all the time. Use tricks. Pretend got a below the belt shot so can get time to rest.

It was also weird since I thought that would be another character defining moment for Pitt to maybe reevaluate how reckless he is but then it's revealed it was actually just the black drivers fault for fucking up and he takes all the blame and so Pitt gets off completely blameless.

That's not true. He redesigned the shitbox car, turned the hotshot rookie into a contender, and sort of didn't completely disappear without a trace after winning like he always does.
>I really could not stand how he fucked with the races to such an extent to bring out hazard flags constantly, it felt like he was basically cheating.
