Mostly I just want to be left alone. I'm too tired to even enjoy a movie or anything by the time I get home. Most nights I still have shit I need to do, dinner/make lunch/ washing/grocery shopping whatever. By the time I've eaten it's usually getting on towards 8pm. Mindlessly browse some threads for an hour and then it's bed time and I get to do it all again the next day

I actually quite like my job. Its a mixture of being in the office, working from home and driving to other towns and cities sometimes that I get paid mileage for and nobody asks where I am or what I'm doing because I block out my diary with 'out of city'.

Who watches TV with it behind them?

Is being a police detective even work? All you do is talk to witnesses so you can tell the DA if they know something or not? Forensic guys pick up evidence and analyse them, corners/doctors analyse bodies and injuries. And if they don't catch the killer or carjacker or whatever there's no consequence as long as they bothered to show up to the crime scene and talk to potential witnesses.

Apparently once you get into your later 30s it's supposed to be very sad. Personally I don't know what people are talking about with that. I'm past 40 and I enjoy a peaceful, uneventful life where I don't have to worry about others.

These things are not binary. There are better and worse ways of living. The best is shared with people whom you love, the worst is with people you hate. Alone can be fine, even good for some people.
