I do not get this movie. It's supposed to be as they say "one of the dumbest and most inaccurate blockbusters around". And I can kinda see that. And yet the movie also makes me care for these guys, makes me hyped, keeps me in suspense and even gets me emotional. Imo it's very human, does dumb fun right, and it's the peak of human optimism kino.
Funny how in the 90s we had this movie, that's full of the indomitable human spirit. We will blow the asteroid up and make it back. And then recently we have Greenland that basically tells us: yeah if asteroid comes for us, there is almost no hope. Big bunker at best.
