the only accurate part about bill in this movie is that he was a butcher, everything the character does in the movie is actually something a notorious irish gangster did. The irish had filled up nyc extremely fast and the city had hired irish laborers to put all the gas lines in for their street lamps. Well the gas lines kept busting and setting the whole city on fire.
