If you hear kids talk about Star Trek or Star Wars, specifically the technology, the discussion can go down the rabbit hole of what could technically be done but generally isn't. A hypothetical character becoming completely OP by going off the rails and utilizing all the power that could be put at their disposal.
Chappie is a bit like that kind of discussion. It loses all narrative suspense, because he kinda goes off the rails at some point.
