You guys talk a lot of SHIT about movies, so here's a challenge: name a movie coming out in the next 2 years that you are actually looking forward to, and why.

I guess Sam Raimi is making a horror movie called Send Help but the article that told me about it said it would have "serious themes" like all the weird nigger horror movies like Get Out and shit that have come out recently.
So, nothing, nothing at all. I'm just trying to keep my ear out for total sleeper hits from out of nowhere like REC back in the day or Creep more recently. I also liked Late Night With The Devil a lot so clearly there's tiny flashes of talent still out there in this hellish world.

I don't think I have seen a movie that's been made in the last 5-7 years and I don't see anything coming up that isn't garbage, or anything interesting.

Neil Breen's next movie, assuming there aren't any big delays. One of only a handful of working American filmmakers who directs artistically interesting films, and I mean that without a trace of irony.

He may be hopelessly technically inept when it comes to most aspects of filmmaking, but in my opinion Breen is a true artist in temperament and worldview and this simple fact makes him automatically superior to 99% of American filmmakers, who are soulless cretins knowingly and willingly producing commercial slop for a tidy profit.

We should ask ourselves how the American film industry has degraded to such an extent that sincere and passionate films focusing on political and financial corruption, exploitation and oligarchy, the surveillance state, and police repression are confined to the far fringes of cinema while being completely ignored by mainstream directors. Why are the so-called "talented" filmmakers with near-infinite budgets like Nolan, Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, Fincher, Spielberg, etc. completely averse to making socially critical films about 21st century American society? Because they are cowards. They are careerists and corporate whores, not artists. Breen, for all his many very real technical shortcomings, might as well be Welles compared to these self-absorbed, complacent and craven pussies. Good for him and I hope he continues making films and putting these pseudo-artists to shame.

I love a good sincere original non-conformist take but the Neil Breen movies are just depressingly bad and inept in every single aspect. There should be aspects of those movies that would accidently interesting, or showing a glimmer of promise, but there's none. Also it feels like he hired escorts to play all the female parts, very uncomfortable to watch all the interactions on screen.

28 Years Later part 2
I liked the first part. I can't wait to see more. People who are asking dumb questions are unironically filtered. People who think it's not like the first installment are also filtered.

I am looking forward to the second part as well, I think it has a lot of potential. I thought the first was disappointing as a stand-alone movie though.

Looking forward to checking out anything by:
Robert Eggers - Wolfman?
Yorgos Linthamos - Bugonia
Ari Aster - Eddington (hope it doesn't suck)
Nathan Fielder's first film
David Fincher's once upon a time in hollywood - he's a good studio director
Guillermo Del Toro - Frankenstein
Terrifier 4
Return to Silent Hill - hope it's good
The Odyssey - will prob watch at least but I feel like Nolan's been going downhill - still haven't watched Tenet
Fast X - haven't liked one since the first 3 though - Fast Five was alright
Happy Gilmore 2 - prob going to be bad, keeping expectations low

Hopefully this post wasn't too pessimistic
