Did Orson Welles actually do anything besides make Citizen Kane? Sure it was groundbreaking and all but it seems like he just got fat as shit and coasted off of its legacy for 40 years.
Finally someone said it. All his other movies are without substance and Citizen Kane wasn't even that great to begin with.

Touch of evil is so fucking good. That opening shot is kino. Orson was a king, the type of man who'd never bore you with the truth.

>>212255851 (OP) Unicron in the Transformers movie. It was his las role too. He was also peak obese and he played a planet. The writers made fun of him for this fact too, then he died a week later.
>Of course, killing you is killing myself. It's the same thing. But you know, I'm pretty tired of both of us He wrote, directed and starred in this at 32 btw
>>212256191 He died unfulfilled in life and wished that he could have done more. It wasnt even him being being humble, he was legit saddened by the fact that Citizen Kane was his legacy among other amazing films, yet they didn't bring him any greater purpose. Imagine being one of those people on their death bed saying "I could have done so much more" and being in one of the greatest films of all time. Hell, it makes me sad even typing it out. Plus, theyre plenty of nobody retards(me) out there who know those writer's names since they decided to kill of Optimus Prime for shits and giggles.

>>212256840 Yes, I am, should I fucking ruin your life for it? You tell me.
>>212257018 Orson was actually a genuinely talented artist and met plenty of famous people and politicians due to his endeavours which included political engagement.
Someone give me a fucking (you). I have posts in 15 threads and nothing, and I need to go to fucking bed, but Iโm in fucking withdraw. I got the no (you) shakes
>>212255895 F for Fake is merely a rehearsal before The Other Side of the Wind. But you were of course filtered, just like you were filtered by Kane.

>>212257018 Alec Guiness was pretty bad too, the Star Wars kid thing was completely made up, and he constantly told people he predicted James' Dean's death and warned him a week beforehand. I think a lot of older thespians were the types of guys that told stories so many times it became hard to separate fact from fantasy, or to ever stop performing.
>>212259253 that's what big fish is about, people liked to tell stories. now with constant surveillance and "proofs?" it's harder to maintain. I'm like this, I always embellish whatever happened to me and people who know me know what I'm making up but to new people it's a different thing.
>>212259482 I told anon a million times to stop exaggerating!

>>212260154 You probably know about the controversy behind Kane's script, but I see it not as controversy, but the ultimate irony played on Welles. Mankiewicz, either by intellect or accident, doesn't matter, guessed the riddle of Welles, implanted it in the script, deep enough that it got past Welles' revisions, and condemned him to be eternally in Kane's shadow.
