Exactly. Some of the most celebrated and award winning women in Hollywood are not good at acting or at least compared to the men. So what's the harm in hiring based on looks? Sure there needs to be some culling, you can't have the softcore porn/FMV game acting of the 90s in a big blockbuster, that's just not good enough. But the dark secret is that the TV stars of the 90s-00s are pretty much on par with the greats, they just don't have the makeup and cinematography of elite level directors and producers backing them up. Look at Annihilation, you could've replaced every woman with a pornstar and I doubt the acting or overall quality of the movie would plummet.
