And I say that as someone who LOVES a lot of his movies. Interstellar is arguably one of the greatest films of all time. But he has a lot of issues. He's a classic hollywood director in the sense that the more control he has over a production and the later in his career he gets, the worse his output will be, but if he's restrained by competent editors and cinematographers he can make incredible things
