Been watching the reality tv version.
I've been very surprised by a few things that should have been obvious to me. The main one was tall poppy syndrome. Literally every person who becomes too visible gets booted soon afterwards.
The main show presents it as "strength in numbers, form a gang etc". But in reality, it wouldn't work like that. People will quickly collaborate to eliminate any major threat and your lackeys can't protect you in most tiuations. Stand out too visibly and you become a major threat.
I hope the Fincher show reflects this.

I fucking hope not. The elimination rounds they had were complete bullshit and not fair at all. Just being able to eliminate people turned me off real quick. The only one I liked was the telephone one. What I do want to be taken from it is the warship game and concept. Using board games would be a good way to americanize it.

I missed the vibes of S2 when everyone was having fun
Hide & Seek was great but having literally everyone die again as the conclusion to the story just felt depressing

i loved season 3, i really didnt mind the plot threads like the detective ones that didnt lead to much payoff because nothing ever happens. the north korean bitch of a guard shouldve been scrapped though. overall its genuinely my favorite show of all time, i dont watch that much TV but this show managed to get me more invested than sopranos breaking bad or better call saul ever could.

I don't like Myung-gi's character arc in S3. I didn't like In-ho doing so little as well as having so little interaction with Gi-hun and his brother. It kind of fell apart after hide and seek for me.

Not really. Plenty of red players could have ran into her and even if they did bump into her, he would die for attacking a red player. They just made him bloodthirsty so Hyun-ju would have a tragic death and force a conflict between Myung-gi, Jun-hee and then later Gi-hun.

i think he believed that gihun actually had already won a game but instead of thinking he was altruistic he thought gihun was a fufcking batshit crazy gambler who wanted to win again which is an understandable conclusion, which is why he was willing to kill the baby to not have to worry about competing with him.
thats why i think season 3 was amazing, gihuns fatal flaw was naivete and mgcoins was cynicism

Hyun-ju is up there. Fights his ass off in the rebellion, is let down by Bitch-ho, gives it his all and fights off two people during hide and seek, dies shielding Geum-ja, Jun-hee and the baby. Two of them then kill themselves in the next game. He could have just left, Myung-gi would have walked in on them and left them alone.
