What actually are the Golden Age seasons/episodes? Which do I HAVE to watch?
>>212266066 (OP)S2 to to 12 or 13 and you'll be dying laughing
>>212266066 (OP)For me, 1989 - 2011 is the kino canon.
season 6 episode 5 is peak
>>212266066 (OP)Anything pre phil Hartman's death. When you start seeing Gil it's over
>>212266191True. Gil is a sign that rot has taken effect; he is the gangrene.
>>212266066 (OP)Seasons 3 to 8. the show jumps the shark in season 9 but there are still some good episodes, so you can pick through the next few seasons with that in mind
>Season 1
Good but more of a heartwarming family show, that focused more on a good message than pure comedy.
>Season 2-7
Absolute gold, literally some of the best written comedy you'll ever see, virtually every episode is great.
>Season 8
This is where the quality started to drop although the season has a lot of great episodes
>beyond season 8
It just gets worse and worse as the seasons go on, a few good episodes and the Halloween specials hold up for a few more years, but really not worth watching overall.
>>212266375This is the correct answer. There are some good episodes story wise in S2 but it really hits its stride comedically in S3. S9 and on there are still good episodes (Cartridge Family for example), but you can tell it's starting to fall apart, and somewhere around S12 or 13 it really falls off a cliff. I usually stop mid S9 when I'm rewatching
>>212266145>>212266154For me it's Last Exit to Springfield but it's all brilliant during that era
Seasons 2-11
Stop it at around season 14.
season 1-9
season 2-9 if you find 1 too rough round the edges
