>>212276631Not like GITS is especially deep, though? It's just: What does it mean to be human, when computers become so indistinguishable from humans that even the computers themselves aren't sure if they're computers or not. And it doesn't provide an answer. It just goes "that's pretty awkward, isn't it?"
And, unlike the cringe scene which apes it here
>>212296104, the canal scene in GITS1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARTLckN9e7I) is actually kino. Frontloaded by the movie having the protagonist ask these questions about if she's really a person or not, followed by a long, slow scene in which nothing happens except her seeing an identical physical copy of herself through a window at the start of it to hammer home the confusion. As the scene goes on, you've got nothing to occupy your mind except to ruminate.
(The whole main plot of the AI that wants to become "alive", by scrambling its code randomly like a fucking retard, is cringe though.)
