I have no problem writing the sequel off as non-existent since the first movie's ending completely contradicts its existence and can view the story of Joker in his Arthur Fleck incarnation as a one-and-done story and that's it. He killed his therapist and escaped Arkham at the end after realizing Bruce Wayne is Batman some years into the future. That's it. I still relate to his struggles and personality just fine without the abhorrent sequel ever once entering my mind. It's all fiction, at the end of the day. I can just selectively choose which is "real" to me without any issue whatsoever.
