It has a lot of obvious references to the Beatles like when Barney gets his own yoko ono. Generally boring and lacking in jokes. So Groening was fine with this episode being canon, but Skinner assuming another guy’s identity was too much.

Yeah it’s gay and regarded and they just keep singing that actual barbershop quartet song, the main and basically only one anyone knows. They don’t even write a ‘funny’ new song. Apu singing barbershop quartet is absurd by itself.
