Sorry. This convoluted story was like a fever dream after bad oysters.

I like horror, I like the zombie genre, I TRULY enjoyed the first two of this franchise... but this hot mess was all over the place.

I don't know where these positive reviews came from; maybe Danny Voyle hasn't cashed his checks for the "trilogy" and had his minions try to positively bomb rotten tomatoes.

Idiotic. Departed storyline. Goofy music. And don't even get me started on the moronic Irish Ninjas. Wtf.

At about 2 mins into the film when the children are sat in the living room watching the T.V the children become scared/crying. At one point, as the infected burst in, you can see one of the girls is actually laughing and smiling.

When Dr Kelson returns with the cleaned skull of Erik, the skull is clearly not that of Erik, because it doesn't have Erik's distinctive teeth.

At the end of the movie, there is a scene filmed in Cheddar Gorge, Somerset where the final Infected attack occurs. A tarmac covered road snakes through the Gorge and it is remarkably clean and unaffected by weeds, grass or other plants which would have taken over road if left unattended for 28 years.

I was really disappointed by this motherfucker and his crew.

I thought the military would play a more key role in the story, which is what I thought when seeing the trailers. But no they just ran ashore because their ship got struck and were essentially stranded.
Which made a lot of sense when thinking about how they fought, because it was really fucking pathetic.
Like I get it, they weren’t sent on a mission there with proper training and intel, but still these guys had fully automatic rifles, body armour and other weaponry and they all dropped like flies from a small herd of them that they could have easily overpowered if they just coordinated amongst themselves.
They genuinely did not need to be in the story. You could remove their entire existence and all you would need to do is rewrite the petrol station bit so that the boy saves himself instead of relying on erik and it would have no impact on anything else.

picrel was meant to symbolise the modern man having a spiritual awakening when confronted with the reality of humans living amongst nature. it's not surprising that his fellow soldier immediately executes him (for knowing too much)
meanwhile, Erik is not only physically stuck but left in a position where he can't even imagine leaving modernity behind. why else do you think he was so worked up about what to do next after rescuing Spike and his mother? he was directionless

I kinda like that they portrayed Erik as a fucking goober and not some high-speed spec-ops guy. Those soldiers were definitely raw recruits or cadets stuck with the shit-tier job of patrolling the seas around the UK and they just happened to fuck up big time. Spike being weirded out by his bogged up instathot gf got a chuckle out of me also.
