Why did they change Stewie from rouge badass to effeminate gay?

MacFarlene wanted to add Jasper as a secondary cast member but FOX was against having a gay character routinely appear on the show, so MacFarlene made Stewie into a flaming homo in protest

He has an English accent and the English are gay
