Because he was both big and elegant. Connery was fucking massive. A tall, broad Scotsman who could believably beat the shit out of you, but successfully hid that danger under a suit and looked totally at ease doing so.
Dalton and Craig were both hardened and ready to throw down. Lazenby, Moore, and Brosnan all looked immaculate and were believable playboys. Only Connery managed to do both.

He's wild.

Other Bonds are fake gentlemen in some ways. A truly cunning top agent shouldn't have an honest or gentleman-like personality, or very strict moral codes.

Simply put, Bond should be a giga jerk. A very toxic and resourceful Alpha. But the woke era wouldn't allow that.

This is the single best moment in the franchise. I made my wife watch them all with me and she burst out laughing at this scene. Based Connery making bitches moist from beyond the grave.

Sean Connery = Pierce Brosnan > George Lazenby

Don't care about the others. Roger Moore was a clown. Its a shame there wasnt more Lazenby

Honestly did not see Spectre or NTTD yet so I can't speak for later developments, but Craig's Bond is one of my favorites explicitly because he straight up looks like a deranged gangster. The short hair and kinda fucked up face, he looks like a thug put in a suit and not a gentlemen who acts like a thug.

>Lazenby
Weird that the only played in 1 movie, just because Connery wanted to retire from Bond movies, then Lazenby makes 1 movie without him and then he comes back for a movie again just to be replaced by Moore kek

Massive. As in, he had a lot of mass. He was naturally heavy with muscle, not just toned like Daniel "38R" Craig.

Funny attempt, tryhard, but you forgot that Connery Bond is from the 1960s when most Europeans were still a bunch of starved midgets who grew up in the Great Depression, WWII, and continued post-war rationing. 187cm is absolutely enormous for that era. Imagine the average Wladylsaw, raised on rations, up against that.

I like them all except Craig. Connery and Dalton are my favourites. Both did justice to the coldness of the character. Connery edges it because he had a subtle, ironic humour that seems fitting given Bond's intelligence.

am I crazy for thinking Diamonds Are Forever is Connery's best Bond movie?
part of it is that Jill St. John and Charles Gray are really good, and it's got lines that are actually funny instead of placeholder quips.
after you watch enough Bond movies you realize they're not supposed to be Great Movies, but instead are Movies You Want To Watch, and the best ones are the ones you want to watch the most instead the ones that are objectively great.
