I liked Europa Report. Real slow but has the same "space journey" feel to it for a reason.

Nightflyers if you don't mind a one-season series. Haven't seen the 80's movie version but I gather it's low budget.
If you're really desperate, there's another ongoing SYFY series The Ark, which is basically The 100 on a colony ship. I like it but it's probably an acquired taste.

Also there's no way they'd try to get to the previous ship and risk their mission before it's completed. They'd complete their mission, get back to broadcast range, then tell Earth about the previous ship and it's payload still being in orbit, if it's needed.

Murphy said they'd mined all of Earth's resources and that there wouldn't be another mission, but I'm super sure he meant that for the payload. Fuel for another trip would be easy to make. Especially for a little shuttle that's just meant to get to the old ship and kick it into the sun.

Pandorum is pretty neat. Specially those big twists in the end, had to pause the movie and walk around the house for 5 minutes when i first saw it.
