yeah basically. it terrified me. i was 5. but it was all undone by the end scene of him awkwardly looking around the real world. it all wrapped up as a joke.

now the TV commercial for Yoshi's Island where the guy fucking explodes? that terrified me AND stuck in my mind as terrifying. i was scared of any other ad where someome got fat, expecting them to burst. every time a tums ad came on and it ended with their jingle, i was relieved. my parents thought i loved the tum's jingle but i loved that it signalled a lack of brutal death. for years and years i assumed i imagined the exploding guy in the ad until just last year when vinny or someone watched it in a wacky commercial segment
