Office space is a movie about a guy about to be laid off from a job that was only ever temporary by efficiency consultants hired by his company to justify terminating people they hired specifically for a short term job, who were hired under false pretenses at the time, believing they had landed permanent employment. His job was to manually edit raw code to not shit itself when the year rolled over to 2000 from 1999, under supervision of eight different bosses.

That's how I felt when I first watched Office Space as I was working a grueling factory job and thought Peter was a spoiled bitch. Then I worked other sorts of jobs including cushy office ones and realised they're all soul-destroying and make you feel like you're watching grains of sand fall through the hourglass as your life fades away.

The older and more jaded I get the more I enjoy this movie.

My job consists of me occasionally responding to emails and sitting in Teams meetings. My current salary is 55k (which is a lot in the UK). No one checks I am working and I only have to go into the office once a week.

Sounds like both jobs need an overhaul and rework/relook at. As an ex-trucker (over 8 years) work sucks ass in general (back is all fucked now). But there NEEDS to be better worker representation rather the the government sucking the cocks of the business owners and then fucking over the workers. Unions used to do this, until the unions got corrupt and I have my hunch that the unions started getting in bed with the businesses because they would not hire or promote union reps who NEVER worked in the field or were "yes-men" who got greased.

He explained it pretty well. He has to go there every day, put in overtime, sometimes work at the weekend, for a salary that most likely isn't great, doing a job that's pointless for the most part while higher ups make way more than him, treat him like their bitch and do absolutely nothing.

I work at FedEx. Women of every age are the stupidest, most attention seeking fucks imaginable. They cause 9 out of 10 team issues by being off-task and trying to "shit talk like the guys." I had a woman try to get me fired because of an email that wasn't even addressed to her that she happened to be CC'd in.
All the email contained was work related information that the addressed person requested from me, but this twat considered it to be "too sharp" and reported me, resulting in a series of meetings where people had to try to figure out what the issue with my email was. No once could figure it out, including the recipient of the email.

My boss implied that she targeted me because she was either on her period or was just bored and wanted drama, but they still had to give me a warning because she's a woman and I'm a man and that's just how it works if a woman complains about you. Working with these cunts is ridiculous.

Any new supervisors, if I'm alone with them, I always say "look, I'm just here to work. Some people here want to fuss and fight. I don't come here for all of that." It plants in their head that I am never the instigator. I've had women complain on me too. Never for harassment or calling them names. Just shit like not making eye contact or politely asking them "what do you want me to do?" when they pose some issue. The managers always side with me and the girls get all huffy.

Establish yourself first as a good worker. Second as a guy who isn't improper with women, but also doesn't have patience for their histrionics.
