Interstellar is just a bare bones story meant to justify showing fun scifi concepts onscreen. They wanted to show:
>what different gravity levels on planets would be like
>time dilation affecting people's age differently
>people going crazy from loneliness
>wormholes and bending light
>a five dimensional tesseract
>being near super giant blackholes
>spinning habitat ships
It's best not to think about it too deeply and just enjoy the visuals/audio

Watched this again last weekend, very good movie. I thought the frozen clouds was pretty silly, but then I thought back to classic Star Trek and how it wasn't really about "realism" per se, it was more about solving problems using reason.
TARS is great.

That part was pretty weird. And he's mumbling a lot since he's crazy, but he did briefly say he keep taking hypersleep naps to pass the years, eventually thought they weren't coming back but was determined to just stay there. Going to the black hole world first to waste as minimum seven years in the best case scenario was really dumb.

Ok, you jerks, pay attention here: there's TWO ROBOTS on the mission. The other robot's name is CASE. He wanted me to announce that to everyone since it really hurts his robotic feelings that no one remembers him and only TARS gets all the attention.

I know, but CASE isn't as interesting and they don't give him as much screentime. He's a neat robot, and I wanna say it's him telling Cooper that this isn't the time for caution, but other than that he doesn't do much, sadly.

Like why our future selves sent our past selves to a star system inhabited by a neutron star and a stellar black hole? Both of which would have bathed both the planets and the endurance in so much radiation they'd all be fucking dead pretty quick? Lmao fucking jerks.
How about the throat of the wormhole still being a considerable distance (contrary to every scifi paper folding analogy) and potentially light years in length? How about the time dilation of being in another fucking galaxy? It's all stupid slop. Kip Thorne is a hack.

There isn't any time dilation simply by being in another galaxy.
