>>212303704 (OP)the movie is based, not because it's boomer liberal slop, because it exposes how dumb the judicial system is
>>212303888So trve, bro. I wish we lived in a based feudal society rather than democracy.
Yes Ivan we know this is another pol influence campaign thread. No Ivan this isn't the jews, white guilt or propaganda. No Ivan having a pocket knife isn't 'introducing new evidence'. Yes Ivan this is reasonable doubt. Yes Ivan we know you're trying to influence real world views into wanting fascist authority and you're not discussing the film.

in autocracies everyone fakes economic data constantly because of fear of losing their social position. high trust societies have huge economic benefits and those are impossible when the government relies on force to stay in charge.

If it were a real case, the kid would almost certainly be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. However, since it is a 1950s movies, he has to be not guilty because films back pretty much never let criminals walk.
Also if it were still an automatic death sentence for returning a "guilty" verdict, you would have a lot more "not guilty" verdicts or hung juries for guilty defendants.
This is a great movie, but I hated this section
>kid doesn't remember the movies (double feature) he saw, didn't have a ticket, and no theater workers remembered seeing him
>a juror then describes that this makes him guilty
>another juror asks when "what's the last movie you saw"
>juror then goes on to describe the type of movie it was and gives the title "The Remarkable Mrs. Bainbridge"
>other juror says "akstually it was "The Magnificient Mrs. Bainbridge"
>Juror then admits the kid is not guilty
Dumbest shit I've ever seen. The kid didn't have a ticket, couldn't give the cops a title, a star, what the movie was about, etc.
>"b-but he was traumatized! by his dad dying!"
Trauma makes you remember stuff more, not less.
>>212303947based Ivanposter shitting on bots
made it all the way to the panel and the jury box and then the prosecutor excused me from the jury yesterday. it was a kino murder trial with the defended pleading not guilty too. why didn't they want me bros?

>4. Do not visit or view the premises or place where the charged crime was allegedly committed, or any other premises or place involved in the case (...)
>6. Do not attempt to research any fact, issue, or law related to this case, whether by discussion with others, by research in a library or on the internet, or by any other means or source (...)
>Our law also does not permit you to visit a place discussed in the testimony. First, you cannot always be sure that the place is in the same condition as it was on the day in question. Second, even if it were in the same condition, once you go to a place discussed in the testimony to evaluate the evidence in light of what you see, you become a witness, not a juror. As a witness, you may now have an erroneous view of the scene that may not be subject to correction by either party. That is not fair.
nth reminder that the only legal consequence of this retarded movie would be a mistrial
>>212307310he literally says "yeah i broke the law!" when he brings in the knife lmao

>>212306471>Also if it were still an automatic death sentence for returning a "guilty" verdict, you would have a lot more "not guilty" verdicts or hung juries for guilty defendants.they screen the juries for those cases extra to be "death qualified" as in they are not squeamish about the death penalty.
>>212307474da boi was white by modern amerimutt standards
If the boy did it, why didn't he take a plea deal? Why would he insist on his innocence and go to criminal trial, knowing the odds against him? I HAVE A REASONABLE DOUBT NOW!
>>212307729Because criminals, especially violent criminals, are stupid.
>>212307729Wtf, that means everyone who doesn't take a plea deal is innocent. This is groundbreaking.
>>212307573ah yes because evidence produced in complete secret that doesn't have the chance to be cross examined and potentially countered by the other side is TOTALLY conductive to a fair and just legal system. You absolute child.

>>212307310>>212307425Came here to post this. I don't get how the message of the movie is "yeah he almost definitely did it but akshually there's reasonable doubt and the law tells us to let him free" when the law literally forbids you from introducing evidence outside of the trial
>>212311124because it's not supposed to be a literal trial
>>212307699That is correct but sentencing is pretty much always separate from finding someone guilty or not guilty. Even with pre-screening jurors, a jury can find a person guilty and then not reach a consensus on the death penalty so the guilty party avoids execution but not prison. I do not know though if sentencing was always a separate thing however in the past.
>>212303864reasonable doubt, not 'beyond all possible doubt', you crybully faggot
