Obviously I grew up loving The Simpsons and was somewhat excited about the prospect of a full length feature, but the show had already run its course. People were talking about the show being washed even before that point.
It was kinda fun with all the promotional stuff with 7/11 and whatever. I actually remembered even kind of enjoying the movie when I saw it...
But I tried rewatching it just a few weeks ago, and it's truly awful. It just has so little of the charm found in those classic episodes, feels like crappy fan fiction. The pacing is all wrong, the animation looks weird, even Homer's voice sounds phoned-in. It's cheeks.
But yeah, somehow they did manage to make "Spiderpig" happen for a brief moment in 2007.
