It was a collection of SNL tier sketches with no connection. Compare that to Big Lebowski or NCFOM and you can see the obvious downgrade.

Why would you compare it with NCFOM, retard, these films have nothing in common

Is precisely the criticism usually levelled at Big Lebowski, yet you seem to enjoy that. HC is meant to be a story against the backdrop of Old Hollywood, of course it's there's going to be a bunch of scenes showing off the different aspects of this world. And it's much more straightforward and cohesive than BL is, too (which I love, not criticising it), so I really don't know what you're trying to say here.

Macbeth was just done by one of them and it was pretty fantastic. Why do you have such shit taste?
>>212312191

Big Lebowski has a far more coherent plot than Hail Caesar lmao. The latter just seems like a patchwork of ideas that those two thought would be funny.

Again, I am not exaggerating when I say this is verbatim the criticism lobbed at BL by its detractors, and it is partly true, however this panneaux approach is what gives the film its charm. HC is also like this, but the central plot is far more coherent

age does not automatically mean an artist should wind down, look at how energetic and productive Scorsese and Eastwood are. the Coens come off as much more lethargic artists though, so that's why i'm dreading the end already

Scorsese's recent films have all been absolute dog shit. If anything, he's the poster grandpa for the idea that you should bow out in your prime, before you're so old and out of touch that you don't know what's good and what's The Irishman.

Eastwood hasn't made a good movie since Gran Torino either, even if he was in his late 70s back then.
