Is anyone here excited for Alien Earth? I like how the sets and costume design harkens back to the original Alien. I think the idea of transferring consciousness to an android doesn’t really fit the traditional
narrative of Alien. Looks really cool though. Been a huge Alien fan for years and I’m really looking forward to it. What do you guys think of the trailers?

How many poor retreads are we getting of the 1979 film? They all feel so dull.

I'll give it a shot. I don't consider it having anything to do with the original movies. It's just a new thing to me. I'm hoping they do have a cool multi-season arc planned out though that can actually take the story somewhere interesting

No because my guess is it's going to be 95% boringass character drama as in humans talking and 5% only actual alien kino

It's crazy that the alien arrives exactly after it has happened one (1) time and turned our plucky protagonist into a special snowflake superheroine.

You want a 10+ episode show to be 95% alien scenes? You think that would somehow be good?

Noah Hawley is a hack, he didn't even understand the Mike Yanagita scene from Fargo.

Because that's a stupid idea and never ever been a way to make a show? You can't even have a movie like that. Over 60% of every Alien movie is establishing the setting, characters, getting to know people, setting up tension, etc. They don't encounter any Alien until over halfway through both original movies. There's no reason to expect any different from a tv series.
