Black Cat is supposed to be kind of a "bad influence" on Spidey, wrong side of the law, gets him into trouble, shallow relationship based only on sex, doesn't care about Peter Parker, distracts him from MJ. Essentially "ghetto FWB that gets you into fights". It's tricky to make her fun, flirtatious, and still be a bad fit for Peter in a way that comes across to the audience. I get the feeling it would come across as a "Protag bails on fun hot chick for stick-in-the-mud nag because maturity" movie, especially if we're stuck with Zendaya MJ (blech)
