The studios really don't get that no one wants to see a "mutant dinosaur" story. The entire draw of Jurrassic Park is getting to see "REAL DINOSAURS" like they would've ACTUALLY looked. Or at least, how people thought they would've looked back when they were badass and cool and not gay giant chickens. Otherwise, much like the lame Jurassic World one, it's basically just Godzila or a Kaiju and no one cares about that.
From a flat earth perspective it almost makes sense if you think all dinosaurs are fake so they're just inventing bigger and crazier ones, but if you buy the narrative than it has to be a cool T-Rex or Raptor or it's going to be lame. It's like a shark movie. No one wants to see a crazy ghost zombie wereshark with five heads. We just want to see an actual shark terrorizing people.
