The S4 scene when she's acting as bait for the guy they're going to murder waiting in the shadows in a playground and she steps into the light with her dead-eyed stare is legit scary. I guess casting legit criminals and ghetto people makes all the difference.

Simon's random Jewish moments get more tiresome every time I rewatch it but the Ed Burns stuff is gold.

>He's pissing on us!
>SUCC IT!!!
lmao

It's not bad for basic cable but the fact there are Americans so stupid and undiscerning that they'd mention it in the same breath as The Wire fills me with horror.

I was going to say Snoop also failed her own English classes then I realized she probably never attended them in the first place.

Seasons 1 and 2 are great but it tanks once they start killing off the OG cast and bring in boring ass characters like Marlo. Also Bubbles and his junkie friend are completely useless, I fast forwarded through every scene with those retards and missed nothing important.

It's an old series but I recommend Homicide: Life on the Street, also created by David Simon. It was a really good police drama with Andre Braugher as one the best stand out performances.

friendly reminder beatie is treated like an angel but turned down 2 other guys in the show and then chose a drunk fuckup that banged 2 whores during a sting while she was in the unit, and would have fucked him on either the first night he went back to her place or when he came over again at the end of season 3, if jimmy hadn't knocked her back both times

I don't think she's treated as an angel she's just shown to have some work life balance and perspective which is in stark contrast to McNulty and Keema.

First shield watcher blogger here
The Shield feels like edgelord cape shit compared to the wire. Whenever something feels a little Kurt Suttery it feels like itโ€™s going to go all sons of anarchy retarded Right now Iโ€™m on season 2 and some plotlines of note
>someoneโ€™s selling heroin to half the elementary school kids in the entire city. Somehow the faculty fails to notice this
>some fag got gay converted and is going to marry some chick. Quite woke for the 00 era.
>Vic was mad at goggins for like half an episode until he got shot
>some serial killer plot about some dude chopping of arms or something that feels like filler.
>autistism speaks.

Itโ€™s alright and entertaining, but itโ€™s not anywhere near close to the sopranos or the wire.

it's been ages since i watched it but i feel like around season 3 or 4 there are some good antagonists that provide more drive to the strike team aspect of the show

Seasons 1 and 2 are. Seasons 3-4 are good whenever Marlo isn't in the picture. Season 5 sucks ass through and through.

Sopranos is great but what a fucking slog. The Wire rewards your attention and memory, Sopranos wipes the slate clean whenever the writers can't be fucked to pick up the thread of the last episode/arc/season.
>>212336346
>season 5 sucks ass
Enough of this fucking meme. I love seeing McNulty at his most unhinged. Unironically a much better backslide in character progression than Sopranos and that's that show's main trick.
