Dae-ho's death didn't even matter to Gi-hun's arc. He'd still be a suicidal and utterly broken mess after hide and seek but still get his pep talk from Geum-ja and go all hero mode to save the baby. He kills another player and has the slightest of reactions to doing so and then just moves on. He sacrifices some X players to make his rebellion work and it failed. He kills Dae-ho out of grief stricken vengeance, to me the direction was clear; Gi-hun would become darker and more like the Front Man. Except it was all 180'd right after anyway. The rewrite definitely hurt S3.

Director changed the ending and so many elements surrounding would have been changed too. Originally, Gi-hun would survive and Jun-ho (detective) would reach the island sooner and stop the games. I think that is all we know right now, maybe more details will be released at some point. They did film S2 and 3 together, it was always just one season really but Netflix made them chop it in half. That said, rewrites can happen quite late.

No VIPs died. I do consider Front Man's status as a huge plot hole though. The games he ran allowed an infiltrator to slip in, to gather intel on the facility, guards, players and VIPs. Not to mention a VIP being assaulted and recorded. I know they play up the VIPs as being absolute sadists and cold hearted but they would also want total security at the island. Then in season 2 he cheats the games to allow Gi-hun to keep playing despite breaking curfew and fucks up even worse by allowing the island to be discovered and having to blow it all up, ending the Korean games for the foreseeable future.

I just finished the reality tv show.
Of the original games in there, I really liked circle of trust. I think that would fit in really well in the actual show.
Basically, sit in a circle, blindfolded, one person is picked each round to place a box on another person's table. That person then has to guess who gave them the box. If they guess correct, box-placer is eliminated. Otherwise box-getter is eliminated.
I can only imagine how brutal that would be if they had to physically see/hear the losers get shot. And it's especially bad because they all figured that the best way to advance was to put the box on someone who trusts you too much to think you'd be the culprit. Hence making the betrayal so much worse.

In that same vein, the test where they each had to choose one person to save was also pretty good.
