Gunn doesn't have brand recognition. People liked GoTG but the majority of people couldn't tell you who directed it. Marketing it as a Gunn film isn't going to drive to see like it would with someone like Nolan or Spielberg.

Got a matinee ticket in a major SoCal city for $15. It's the drinks and food that they get you with but even then, the largest pepsi was $10 and you could get a free refill anytime, which totalled around a literal gallon of soda (they are betting you don't go for refills).

Do what you want, but I think going all in on a new era of hope and light and goodness is going to be a winner, speculatively. From some of the descriptions, it's almost like it's trying to take back the throne from takes on superheroes like The Boys (new breed of superheroes are morally bankrupt).
