And M3GAN 2.0 was supposed to open to 50-60 million. Opened to 10.2 milly instead. Projections are bullshit. I mean, at one point the polls had Kamala beating Trump.

It's not. Those projections were recently adjusted to be around 100 million, give or take.

This movie will be bad, but it will make so much money and /tv/ will never shut up about it ever again. With how much marketing they’ve shoved down our throats…I know at least half of my retard coworkers are like “yeah looks pretty good gonna go see it”. This shit will suck and the aftermath will suck, but get ready for Gunns billionaire dollar box office garbage.

Jurassic world is trying to rebrand the franchise, instead of a family adventure with dinosaurs they are doing a solo female action-horror thing with mutant dinosaurs, the lead is a 40yo fem, the fuck are they thinking ....

what a shock, a well-recognized property directed by a guy who made some pretty enjoyable and beloved comic movies is something people want to go see instead of sperging out about zack snyder on a korean noodle forum.

>>212345551
people are tired of the shitty formula with jurassic park too. and i saw the movie, it was a bland as fuck action movie with no worldbuilding or plot. just an excuse for dinosaurs to eat people. i can't remember the name of a single character.

An internet search for "superman opening day projections" yields dozens of articles over the past few days with a huge range of predictions, some much lower and some even higher. It's dumb to much much stock in them one way of the other.
>>212344884
Gunn doesn't have brand recognition. People liked GoTG but the majority of people couldn't tell you who directed it. Marketing it as a Gunn film isn't going to drive to see like it would with someone like Nolan or Spielberg.

Movie tickets are probably like $50 now. That's only about 3 million people. Not very impressive considering there are 8 billion people on this planet and growing.

Got a matinee ticket in a major SoCal city for $15. It's the drinks and food that they get you with but even then, the largest pepsi was $10 and you could get a free refill anytime, which totalled around a literal gallon of soda (they are betting you don't go for refills).
I'm betting on Gunn on this one. Loved Tromeo and Juliet in high school which was his first major screenplay, liked Slither a lot etc.
Also
>booted from Disney and temp-canceled for making some 4chan-esque edgy jokes. Ironically, it was done by the type of people who make the exact same jokes. (I can't even remember why 4chan hated him for that brief period)
>now is doing a lawful good take on Superman after an era of dark gritty disturbing TV/films (2005-2024ish) that draws from Kingdom Come and All Star Superman, two of the most essential modern Superman comic runs.
>is a rare example of a creative lead that actual likes the source material and is knowledgable about it beyond the level of average comic book readers, even.
Do what you want, but I think going all in on a new era of hope and light and goodness is going to be a winner, speculatively. From some of the descriptions, it's almost like it's trying to take back the throne from takes on superheroes like The Boys (new breed of superheroes are morally bankrupt).
I like it.

Clayface is technically A-tier. B-tier would be, like, Victor Zsaz, Calendar Man, Blight, Firefly, Dollface etc.

It will never live up following the best Superman we ever had. Once people realize it doesnt scratch the itch that Henry Cavill’s provide, sales will jump off a cliff and I imagine Man of Steel rentals and purchases will skyrocket.
