I remember watching an interesting video that argued that cyberpunk films fill the same archetype for zoomers that westerns and noir films filled for previous generations (lone imperfect misunderstood antihero rebelling against an immoral society), and I tend to agree with this assessment, so I doubt westerns will make a comeback anytime soon. Though cyberpunk could definitely become more popular, especially since Bladerunner is already one of the most memed movies and AI development/societal collapse provides fertile ground for the genre to return in a big way
