Cope. Rush is firmly in the B tier of prog rock. Early King Crimson, early Geneisis, almost all eras of Floyd, and even some of ELP vastly surpass even the best Rush albums.

That's just prog rock in general. But Rush is the only prog rock band that normies know so that's the one they always use. There was a massive astroturf campaign by punks to discredit prog rock in the late 70s and make it seem like lame, gay, pretentious "white person music"

Rush aren't even all that prog beyond a narrow window of albums with suites and other intricate songs. Early Rush is a lot of standard hard rock, and Rush since Permanent Waves gradually became ornate pop rock music with few exceptions.
