I really didn't like it. Both characters were annoying for different reasons, the girl is worse.
So I didn't really care about the concept or whether they get back together. Did I get filtered?

Jim Carrey is a very off-putting actor to me. The woman was just whatever

Na I didn't really like it either. I don't think it's a bad movie the premise and casting was great but the execution didn't quite hit the mark for me personally

I'm convinced no one sincerely, in their heart of hearts, likes this movie.

Weirdly enough, this was one of the few films that made me cry

What moment specifically? I really am curious if I somehow missed something crucial with this movie.

That whole scene was like a fever dream. And when she said something like let's pretend everything is fine it hit home for some reason. The idea of wanting to erase someone from your life but, at the same time, pretending that nothing has changed and that we can be together forever, for some reason made me cry like a bitch.

I see. Maybe it's that I was lucky enough to have all my breakups end amicably and thats just why the movie didn't resonate with me at all.
Thanks for sharing!

NTA I just think wanting to remove someone from your memory is a very relatable thing. The movie itself is tragic, but it doesn't feel that way, the love feels real, even though it's implied they never stopped erasing each other over and over and over.
It hits differently every time I watch it every few years, and though I do think the acting from anyone other than Winslet or Carrey can sometimes be unremarkable, it's the only film that's made me cry just because of how well it captures the spontaneity of relationships, or at least those I've experienced
