Higuchi could write in the desth note

"Misa Amane sends Higuchi a massage of her former manager real name then dies of a heart attack"

Instead of going in person to get matsuda real name.

Hell he can even make her send the real name of matsuda to all his colleagues in Yotsuba at once so it's not pinned on him.

Death note plot hole:
It is just impossible for Yagami to get caught. He could've sat in his study chair and keep writing names but for plot he gets caught.

I don't think Higuchi knew anything about controlling people through the note, that was just experiments Light had set up for months.
Higuchi was just given the note by Rem to kill people, that's it.

Okay let's say someone knows it is Light who is killing those people. Where will you find the evidence though? All you will find is a copy having names of people who got killed. That doesn't make someone a killer.

Controlling people with the Death Note only works to the extent that it's something the person being controlled would plausibly do on their own.

Rem's death note had english instructions, as per light's rule 13 plan.
Higuchi also had the shinigami eyes and could have seen Misa's real, non-stage name.
I have to give it to, OP.
After 3 minutes I can't find an issue with his plot hole

Higuchi wanted to make Misa his wife/concubine. He believed that he could feasibly find Matsuda's real name without having to kill off a valuable asset.
>>212362650
Incorrect. You can get them to do anything that is possible so long as it does not [directly] result in the death of another person not also named in the Deathnote.

what if I write down "vladimir putin chokes to death after launching nuke?"

Would the nuke still be launched but fails to kill anyone since I didn't specify that his death would result in anyone else's death?

As long as there's a single nuke he can launch that would fail to detonate (and Russia probably has countless faulty nukes) that's how it would likely go.

You can control someone's actions up to 23 days before their death, and email, phone calls, etc existed back then.

He didn't want to kill Misa, yet.
He couldn't know with enough certainty that Misa would know her manager's name.
When he did call her it went to voice mail so she might not be capable of sending him a message in time and just die pointlessly
>>212363206
Putin dies of a heart attack before launching any nukes.
It's directly addressed in the manga.
After Mello steals the death note he threatens the US president by claiming he can force him to nuke the country with the note. Light confirms that can't be done.

I was read it this way too. L had a very strong idea that he was in Japan. The Lind L Taylor gambit was more to verify the location and affirm that the killer was capable of inducing heart attacks based on a name and face.

>rip out pages
>get them into a prison's paper supply
>when visitors sign in the visitor and prisoner both die
Death Note sucks because it becomes a stupid boring detective story that doesn't make any goddamm sense instead of exploring weird things to do with the Note. Slip pages into the paper supply anywhere people write their own names, use it as an autograph book, I don't know just do something interesting with it. Ugggh, the detective story is boooooring and fucking stupid

>This note will not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
Also I'm pretty sure this rule doesn't mean the writer has to actually visualize the person at time of writing, they just need to know what specific person with that name they're writing the name of. I'm certain there were times in the series people were tricked into writing their own names on ripped out pages which is where I got the idea of distributing pages to places where people write their own names
>The number of pages of the Death Note will never run out.
Just rip out a bunch of pages and get them into homeless shelters and rehabs. It'd be cool

It doesn't make any sense for it to be a detective story. It's been a while but I don't think Light was broadcasting what he was doing, somebody just decided "these random unconnected deaths must be connected and caused by a guy" for no reason. It's stupid
It would have been cool if he killed a guy he thought committed some crime and then saw proof that he definitely didn't do it so he starts investigating potential targets to make sure they deserve it, that's an angle to turn it detective. Bunch of people investigating how random deaths are magically connected is stupid
