Honestly Jefferson's continuous sucking off of the the French Revolution while shit like the Reign of Terror and the genocidal massacres in the Vendeé were going on was far more disgusting and completely indefensible than anything he did in regards to slavery. One was a socio-economic issue that he had very little personal control over in the grand scheme of things, cheering on revolutionary brutality in France was something he absolutely had control over.
